Yes, you read that right. Spiders do not like anything that gives too a strong scent which is great because strong scents are actually something we, humans are fond off. Mint oil perhaps is a famous remedy for insect pests. All you need to do is mix in peppermint oil equally with water on a spray bottle container and spray and spritz the mixture around your house. Be sure to cover even the bottom part of the doors, window sills, kitchen windows and etc. Other types of essential oils you can use are lavender, rose, tea-tree and cinnamon. Repeat this process several times at least until your place has become free from spiders.
Now, if the essentials oils do not work (they hardly fail though), there is another natural item which you can use and that is vinegar. Yes, all you have to do is do the same thing that you did with the essential oil and water – mix both ingredients in two equal amounts on a spray bottle and use this mixture to spray on the corners of your house, cracks, crevices, window sills and etc. to keep the spiders at bay. Be careful though not to use this mixture on varnished furniture as this substance can be too strong for those items.
